On Visit to Verix, P&G Cites Innovation as Key to Healthy Growth
Few household names are better known than Procter and Gamble (P&G). Four billion times a day, P&G brands touch the lives of people around the world1 — a reach that makes P&G the largest consumer packaged goods company in the world, and earning them a cool $85 billion in total sales for 2012 alone.
And yet, even with this unparalleled worldwide penetration, growth is still a key business goal, which P&G believes can be achieved through constant innovation. In fact, “Innovating for the Everyday™” is P&G’s new tagline.
A couple of weeks ago, P&G sent its top-notch BI and IT executive team to explore innovative technologies in Israel, visiting current partners as well as scouting for start-ups that are developing game-changing solutions. With a successful implementation of our business intelligence solution in three operational units, Verix topped the list of companies for them to see.
In fact, P&G paid much more than a mere visit to Verix – they hosted a tribute to the company at the King David Gallery in Jerusalem, inviting the Verix entire staff, as a way of saying ‘Thank you for a job well done’.
Filippo Passerini, P&G’s President of Global Business Services & CIO, and a technologist of super-star status, explained that IT is not a mere ‘department’ at P&G, but rather, a primary business enabler. Growth and innovation can’t happen without a frictionless IT backbone supporting every aspect of the supply chain and sales data as well as market and product research. What impressed him most about Verix is the way our technology looks for statistically significant changes within P&G’s massive global data, and proactively alerts business managers to issues, opportunities, and risks that are brewing. Mr. Passerini noted that Verix’s management-by-exception gives P&G a significant business edge.
Another key executive with the P&G team, Andy Walters, VP of Business Intelligent Consumer and Global Business Units for P&G Global, was clearly impressed by Verix’s agility and amazed to see how well and quickly Verix implemented within the P&G platform, and succeeded in delivering value.
